Jakob Locke ~

December 4, 2009
| On December 2, 2009 an angel was born. Jakob Locke was born at 3:10AM weighing 7lbs 8ozs and 20 inches long. He was born via emergency c-section. I had undiagnosed vasa previa and velamentous cord insertion causing Jakob to lose a lot of blood. After the c-section he was given multiple blood transfusions and was rushed over to Children's Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Over the next few days Jakob fought hard for his life, but sadly, his organs were failing and his brain activity was very flat. Jakob suffered irreversible oxygen deprivation. On December 4, 2009 we got to hold him for the first time. He was baptized, had his first bath, and got to spend time in the arms of all the family members that loved him so dearly. At just before 7PM that night, Jakob passed away in Mommy's arms and holding Daddy's hand. It was peaceful and quiet. In the words of Auntie Jamie, "From mommy's arms straight to Heaven, no stops. Not a bad gig!" Seth and Katie Talus |
